Fun fact: My url comes from Anikele.
It means "trusted information/informant". Although to explain why this is my url will take much longer than necessary. It involves naming traditions in my conworld.

I’m thinking about livestreaming Conlang the Movie.

But if nobody wants me to, there’s really no use in doing so. I can just watch it by myself without slowing down my computer any more than need be. I was thinking later on this evening. Like 6-7 Eastern time? It’d last about 20 minutes, probably. The film itself if 16 minutes.

Here is the website if you have no idea what I’m talking about.

Wow, yeah, I’d really love that, that’s awesome!

This obviously won’t be a complete list, but these are either people who have interacted with me or who I’ve seen around. I italicized those I actually follow.

Yeah, that’s the one, spelt exactly like that, with the hyphen and everything! I know DC’s not an exact replacement, but I’m happy I found it because I’m happy to find ANY conlanging community on tumblr (it’s a lot more hidden). Alsoyeslet’sbefriends

YESSSS I AM THE MASTER OF ALL CONLANG NAMES! I can also give you a lot of conlangers and conlanging-related blogs if you want to follow some. You’ve probably found a lot through the #conlang tag, but hey, might as well offer! It’s a lot more laid-back and unstructured here and people just do whatever they want. It’s definitely different.

Hey! Are you speria from deviantart? Remember Red-Banner (conlangers member)? It's me! Wow I miss the group so much. I'm so happy I found the deconstructedconstruction tumblr! :D

I am indeed! I definitely do remember you! I try to make it a point to remember as many members of the group as I can, especially if they have interacted with me before. I also remember that your conlang was Malbja-elj, right? Or something similarly-named… I might be spelling it wrong. I remember conlang names more by pronunciation, to be honest.

I’m glad you made your way over to tumblr and I am especially happy that you are enjoying Deconstructed Construction! It’s definitely not a replacement for #Conlangers- which is still going strong! -but I hope that you find it to be an informative and engaging conlanging resource!

Also we should totally be friends here because I love friends I’m going to go follow you now okay?

Conlang-related to do list:

  • Write 50 followers special post even though we now have 60 followers (which apparently has to be about butts or IALs, according to the suggestions).
  • Plan out my next few month’s worth of posts sincethe current list I am working off of cuts off in about three weeks and I have no idea where my “updated” list went.
  • Figure out what I will be doing with the #Conlangers monthly conlang challenges.
  • Make some sort of Anikele-related post because reasons. Or even start formatting and typing up a formal grammar finally finally finally. Although that will probably still wait.
  • Hopefully find some time to maybe start a Finnish-Anikele word list for myself.
  • And I might email someone cool in the conlanging community I’ve been thinking to email if I get up the guts to.
These are the awesome things I’ll be doing, guys. Especially the Deconstructed Construction stuff. That’ll keep going, and I have some cool things planned in addition to what I’ve mentioned here. Keep an eye out. Tell your friends.

Conlang 218 Sentence Challenge

irrhythmic:

Hey guys~ I’m challenging myself to work on Tereseket more in-depth, by translating one sentence from this wonderful list a day, until I’ve completed all 218! They get more complicated as the list goes on (sort of). This is an excellent way to test your syntax etc. and I suggest it to any conlanger having issues, or any veteran wanting to re-explore the basics of their lang.

To start off, I’ll actually be doing the first 4 because of their similarity and because I have these structures worked out already.

Oh, this is cool.  Bookmarking for later

I love this list. I’ve been using it to flesh out all my conlangs (haven’t managed all 218 in any individual one yet though). it’s really helpful.

This list would be a very good starting point if you need sentences for the method mentioned in this week’s post!

You should be on skaip more.. and lookie: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/myssela

But I am on Skype a lot! Just shoot me a message and I’ll get it. :) There’s no reason to be not-invisible if my computer is always on.

And !!!! at your new Myssela blog! (I fixed the link, by the way.) It’s gotten so developed sice you first showed me. And your grammar looks pretty snazzy too! I should make something like that for Anikele… I am the laziest when it comes to grammars and conlangs in general. That’s probably why I’ve only had one project when you’ve had like five or six different languages already?

We have fifty followers over at Deconstructed Construction!

Is there anything you’ve been dying to hear about on Deconstructed Construction? You are in luck! I decided that I should celebrate with an extra post with a topic suggested by one of our readers!

Rules:
★ Post must not overlap with any ongoing series that I (Nick) am not writing. So Historical Conlanging and Learning Your Conlang is up for grabs, but something like Conlanging with Constraints isn’t. You can also pick something completely different if you want me to, say, email and/or interview someone in the community or something non-series-related like that.
★ Topic must be researchable and have readily-available materials online or in print. Or it must be something that I can get information about in some conceivable not-all-that-crazy way.

Feel free to leave your suggestions here! Is there any topic that you want to see discussed?

12 April 2012 - Professor Ed Vajda

I know some followers expressed interest in this, so I thought I’d share the notes I took. (I know I have a couple other write-ups to complete, but I’d like to get this one done while it’s fresh in my mind, lest I am unable to read my sloppy notes.)

I’m presenting some of the details slightly out of order from when they were discussed, simply because it’s easier to synthesize my notes in an organized manner by doing so.
