♧: Share the story of something that makes you smile.

Well for context for the knitters, I’ll tell the story of the Monorails. Just so it might make sense and it can go back to being a thing that is only for me and not mocked.

You see, back when I as going through a big bout of boredom, I decided that since I had a trip to WDW planned that it would be really funny to imagine what the parks would be personified. I ended up making entire characters (which could very well exist separately from the whole Disney parks thing but I enjoy all the references and stuff too much to split them away like I had some of my other OCs from their original universes [even if it was an original story of my own, I eventually usually split the characters from their respective universes]) and started thinking of fun things involving them. I still have them, but that’s not really relevant.

Then I met Sam. She got really into them when I posted them and actually did an art of Magic Kingdom with her imaginary versions of rides in return for a doodle I did of one of her characters, Ellen. Then I got really excited over it (although rides are not a thing in this universe) and then she decided to take the ride idea a step further and play with the monorails. So the Monorails pretty much belong to Sam.

We let that go for a while, and for some reason we were discussing things and it came up that our idea of Monorail Red was my “spirit animal” of sorts. And that really brought back the monorails as a thing, but not really seriously. We let it go again for a few months, and then I decided I wanted to send Sam a letter and asked her what she wanted me to draw. She referenced our previous Monorail Red conversation so I drew him. Then I decided that that was really fun (because it was) and asked her what the others were like. And then we threw around ideas from there.

At one point we mentioned how Monorail Orange would be the type to have an adorable crush on Monorail Coral, and because she was the TRONorail too that was just an amazing thing so then we decided to “ship” it. In the sort of way like YOU GO GIRL in Investigative Journalism was a thing for that moment. And since it was an amusing thing and such, it became hilarious really fast.

But it is not hilarious when I am being judged for being amused by it because people think I really want monorails to get together. :( I just think the idea is funny and the characters are adorable!

Anyway, tl;dr: Monorails are cute, deal with it. And I like liking them. I’m not going to think “OH HEY MONORAIL CORAL WHERE IS ORANGE” the next time I am on Monorail Coral. No. I’ll be thinking “Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas.” instead.

I WANT TO WRITE THAT NOW. WRITE AS IN FORM A SPECIFIC HEADCANON, NOT ACTUALLY WRITE A STORY. MOST LIKELY. PROBABLY. MAYBE.

IT WOULD SO BE IN CHARACTER FOR HER TO DO THAT TOO, WHICH MAKES IT EVEN BETTER.
